Series Review: Dirt Trax Off-Road Series #5 Carpet Edition

Dirt Trax RC just finished it’s 5th Carpet Series. The series consisted of 8 races between September 28 and November 16, 2011. Dirt Trax is an indoor Carpet RC racing facility. The series consists of 1/10 scale electric classes including 2wd buggy, 4wd buggy and 2wd Short Course.

In the 1/10 electric 2wd buggy class Sutton Aviation driver Jake Solt took top honours with his Schumacher Cougar SV. Jake was the dominate racer in the 2wd buggy class having an amazing 5 first place finishes and 4 Top Qualifiers in the 8 race series. John Gagnon driving his Losi 22 finished in 2nd place behind Jake. John had a strong showing with 1 TQ and 5 podium finishes throughout the series. Matt Stacey also driving for Sutton Aviation finished a respectable third place. He had five podium finishes in this series. He was also driving a Schumacher Cougar SV.

The noteable chassis of the 1/10 electric 2wd buggy class for this series was the Schumacher Cougar SV. The Cougar SV had a notable 5 of 8 Top qualifier positions in this series. It also had 14 of the possible 24 podium finishes in the 8 races. Other noteable brands include the Losi 22 which had 1 TQ and 6 podium finishes.

Jake Solt also took the series crown In the 1/10 electric 4wd buggy class. Jake was driving a Schumacher SXII. He had four TQ finishes and 6 podium finishes in this series. Sutton Aviation founder/driver Billy Sutton finished 2nd driving his brand new Schumacher SXIII. Billy had four podium finishes. Sam Souky driving a Durango DEX410 finished in 3rd. Sam had many top 5 finishes throughout this series.

The noteable chassis of the 1/10 electric 4wd buggy class for this series was close between Schumacher and Tamiya. Schumacher had a notable 5 of 8 Top qualifier positions in this series where Tamiya only had one TQ, however Tamiya had five 1st place finishes, while Schumacher only had one. Schumacher had 11 of the possible 24 podium finishes while Tamiya had only 9. This shows that both Tamiya and Schumacher were dominate in this series for 4wd buggy.

In the 1/10 electric 2wd Short Course class Sutton Aviation Driver Matt Stacey took the series with his HPI Blitz. He had three TQ’s and three wins throughout the series. John Kennedy driving a modified Slash took 2nd place in the series. He had three podium finishes in the series. Chris Charron driving a Team Associated SC10 was third in the series. He had more podium finishes then John Kennedy (Chris had four podium finishes), however John had more top 5 finishes which helped his points total.[/center]

It also had 11 of the possible 24 podium finishes in the 8 races. Other noteable brands include the HPI Blitz which had 3 TQ and 6 podium finishes.
